Volunteer Centre

The Volunteer Centre has two main functions: first we offer a number of services to Volunteer using organisations, one is around recruiting volunteers for the opportunities they have. The other is working with them around good practices and quality standards in recruiting, planning, support and management of volunteers. Any issues Volunteer Using Organisation's have around volunteers we are here to help with. If an organisation is looking at taking on volunteers for the first time, we can help them get it right from the start which helps with recruitment and retention.

The other main function is the recruitment and brokerage service to prospective volunteers. We help prospective volunteers find the right placement for them and their needs at the time. This could be for a career change, to help build up confidence, to get involved in their local community, make new friends, gain new skills etc. We also offer a support needs service, so if people need that extra support in order to access the benefits of volunteering our Support Needs Officer will provide it. Anyone can volunteer, and everyone has something to contribute regardless of their experience or how little time they can spare.

We have over 395 volunteer vacancies on our books and all can be accessed via the website Do-it.org.uk To give you an idea of some of the opportunities availible, the following is a general list of headings where vacancies are available..
