Christine Fish: Chief Officer
Christine Fish is CVS Chief Officer and Company Secretary. Christine's role is to ensure that the CVS is managed effectively and that there are the resources and finances to run the organisation.
Christine's job role is very extensive, Christine manages the CVS on a day to day basis and has a strategic role in representing and supporting the Voluntary, Community and Faith sector (VCFS) in the Hyndburn and Ribble Valley area.
Christine also has a regional role as part of the Lancashire Association of CVS's and as the rural representative for the Lancashire VCFS consortium.
Christine's constant aim is to ensure that the VCFS is recognised for the work it does and that the role of the sector is understood, appreciated and supported by colleagues in the statutory and public sector.
Dorothy Shears: Leapfrog Project Manager
Dorothy has been with CVS since 1999. For 9 of those years she worked in and then managed the Volunteer Centre, which unfortunately, due to lack of funding, closed in April 2008.
Her previous employment was with Age Concern Hyndburn as an Administration Officer then progressing to Project Co-ordinator. Dorothy is a qualified practitioner to work with groups around SAM’s, which is the Quality Standard for Volunteer Managers.
In March 2008, she became Manager of the Leapfrog Project, which aims to build the capacity and development of medium to large voluntary and community groups. For more information about the project follow the link under the Projects tab.
Jill Stazicker: Learning Exchange Coordinator
Jill has worked for CVS since 2001. After always working for the private sector, it soon became apparent that Jill had found her niche in life in the Voluntary Sector. Advising, helping, supporting and listening. A very rewarding job!
Jill started with CVS as part-time administrator for the Volunteer Centre in the Ribble Valley. Then dividing her hours between the Volunteer Centre and the NLDC Project, aiming to increase the number of new training opportunities throughout deprived areas of Hyndburn. Following this, Development Officer for the Volunteer Centre, specialising in promoting Good Practices and Policies for organisations that recruited volunteers.
November 2006 saw the launch of the Hyndburn Learning Exchange, and this is where she has stayed,currently working as Learning Coordinator for the Learning Exchange within the Leapfrog Project. Committed to working with partner agencies, groups and organisations offering innovative and extensive ranges of learning opportunities."
Sheila Stevenson: Finance Officer
Sheila Stevenson has worked at the CVS since 2005 having previously worked mostly in the private sector. Sheila is the Finance Officer and is responsible for the maintenance of the financial records and production of accounting records.She manages several budgets and administers all the financial requirements of the organisation.
Susan Seymour: Leapfrog Project Administrator and Core Development Officer
Having worked in the voluntary sector since 1999, Susan came to CVS in March 2008 at the start of the Lepafrog Project where she is the project assistant, working as the administrator for the Team. Susan also helps with core work and administration for CVS, which involves producing the Members' newsletter, helping facilitate Board and Team meetings, managing the main database and general administration.
Michelle Walsh: Positive Steps Coordinator
Michelle started as a volunteer for CVS at the end of 2008 and moved on to being a staff member.
She works with clients on a one to one basis, making it as easy as possible for them to get into voluntary work; whether it is to help individuals improve their employability skills or because they feel they want to give something back to the community.
In April 2010 Michelle was awarded Learner of the Year for the North West for her studies at Accrington and Rossendale College and she now splits her time between CVS and ACCROSS.
