Funding for Groups

You will always find advice and information on where to access funding in your quarterly newsletter. In addition to this we have FunderFinder, a comprehensive database of the UK and EU funding initiatives which can help your group to find appropriate charitable trusts to approach for funding: you can come in to either of our offices and do a search, just ring and book.

Association of Charitable Foundations (ACF)
Association of Charitable Foundations promotes and supports grant-making charitable trusts and foundations. Members tend to be the bigger, richer trusts, particularly those that have paid staff. It can't give individual advice to grant-seekers but its publications and its website often have general advice and useful information.

Co-op Community Awards
Funding up to £1,000 is open to projects that promote 'co-operative solutions in communities', past funding has included play equipment, fencing and sponsorship of events. The scheme usually purchases equipment or commissions work - cheques do not normally go to a group directly. The Big Fair Share
Open for applications until 31 December 2013. Minimum grant: £5,000, maximum grant: £250,000.
Some parts of the UK missed out on Lottery funding in the past. The Fair Share programme has been helping to change that. Targeted at 77 areas, Fair Share was the first joint programme from the New Opportunities Fund and the Community Fund - now merged as the Big Lottery Fund. The Fair Share Trust programme aims to: Build Capacity and Sustainability – by involving local communities in decision making about lottery funding; Build Social Capital – by building links within and between communities to promote trust and participation; Improve liveability - by improving the living environment for communities.
